Computer Appreciation

Course Description:

Computer Appreciation is an introductory course designed to provide students with a basic understanding of computers and their applications. The course covers fundamental concepts related to hardware, software, operating systems, and computer networks. Students will also learn about computer security, ethical considerations, and emerging technologies. Practical exercises and hands-on activities will be included to reinforce theoretical concepts.

Course Objectives:

1. Understand the basic components and functions of a computer system.
2. Familiarize students with different types of software applications and their uses.
3. Explain the role of operating systems and their functionalities.
4. Introduce computer networks and their importance in modern computing.
5. Discuss computer security measures and ethical considerations.

Course Duration:

6 weeks (6 Modules)

Assessment:

At the end of each module, participants would be required to participate in a quiz test by answering a list of questions not less than 10. This is to enable us to assess the level of assimilation and ascertain that learning has taken place. Candidates with an average score and above would be awarded a certificate of training by Jomo Resource Center.
